The
operation of the Horticultural Center is a year round activity. We need
to do maintenance on the facilities and grounds, weeding, replanting
and propagation. We can use help when you have the time. Please
join us when you can and take the opportunity to meet and visit members
and have a good time. We sure could use your help!
Workdays
and planting days are on a Friday and we generally start about 9AM;
contact Ted Faber for
dates and exact start time

SUMMER/FALL
GREENHOUSE WATERING & MOWING SCHEDULES
Once
the greenhouse is empty of plants, we only need to check the mist
propagator. We need to make sure the outside sprinkling system is
working. Activate the main pump by flipping the silver lever in the
timer box to turn on sprinklers. Reset to automatic after checking the
unit. Check all plants in the watering area and make sure all are in
the upright position. Check the area and report any problems to Ted.
There is a little flexibility in the checking and mowing
schedule. These jobs can be completed a day on either side of
your scheduled date. Fill the water tank in the greenhouse before
you leave as this feeds the outdoor propagating unit. Please review
page 2 of the Greenhouse Procedures.
Mowers
and gasoline are located in the storage area. There are two
operating mowers, and it is a good idea to get someone to work with you
when possible. Thanks again for your willingness to help.
